Provincial Tree of Saskatchewan, White Birch Botanical Art Print
White Birch is the official provincial tree of Saskatchewan
Beautiful Fact - White Birch is known for its smooth, paper-like bark—strong, flexible, and easy to peel in sheets. These qualities made it highly valued by First Nations communities, especially as a traditional material for canoe building. Its leaves and bark have also been used for generations in natural remedies, from skin care to pain relief.
Leaves - White Birch leaves are double-serrated, egg- to triangle-shaped, and can grow up to 10 cm long. Their upper surface is a dull dark green, while the underside is pale yellow-green. In fall, they turn a bright, clear yellow before dropping.
