Small-Batch Ontario Sumac Berries Ink, 1 oz (30ml)

CA$22.00

Ontario Staghorn Sumac (Rhus Typhina) is native to south-eastern Canada.

Beautiful Fact - The beauty of the sumac is that the deep crimson berry clusters remain on the plant during winter and create such a beautiful contrast with the snow. Birds eat sumac berries in winter and early spring, usually as a last resort which have a sharp and fresh lemon taste.

Fruits - Sumac has cone-shaped upright berry clusters, covered in a velvet fuzz. Berries have brilliant shades of reds and oranges depending on the season.

Staghorn Sumac berries are mostly from Downsview Park in Toronto. All of my inks are carefully handmade in small batches for use in my own nature journal and art practice. They had been simmered for hours to ensure deep colour and quality. They are perfect for complimenting watercolours or line drawings.
