Western Red Cedar is the official tree of British Columbia

Beautiful Fact - The word “plicata” in the tree’s Latin name Thuja Plicata comes from a Greek word meaning "folded in plaits" in reference to the arrangement of the leaves. It is sometimes called arbor-vitae, Latin for "Tree of Life”.

Leaves are small and scale-like with an ovate shape.
